Charter Standard

The Charter Standard Scheme is a best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League. As a benchmark for quality, it will improve the playing experience for all.

AFC Wandsworth is committed to achieving the FA Charter Standard Club Award by demonstrating to all our members, parents, sponsors and the public, that we are a well-organised, safe Club offering opportunities for all. The following criteria will need to be reached:

  • Development of a written constitution and set of club rules
  • Election of a management committee to administer the club, maintain proper books of account and record the minutes of committee meetings
  • FA CRB checked volunteers
  • All managers / coaches to have minimum of FA Level 1 Coaching Course and registered with the league
  • A commitment to attend in-service training
  • Acceptance and promotion of Codes of Conduct by coaches, managers, players, spectators, parents, guardians and carers
  • Commitment to provide Mini-Soccer opportunities for Under 10s
  • Commitment to promote schools liaison and equal opportunities for all

Attaining the FA Charter Standard is an on-going process and we hope to be fully accredited by 2014.
