AFC Wandsworth was founded in January 2003 by local volunteers and parents living and working in the Wandsworth area. In its first season the club started with one team, entering at the under 15 level and has grown steadily over the past nineteen years.
The club competes in the London Saturday Youth League playing the majority of matches in the South West London area.
Over the past 19 seasons, the club has enjoyed many successes with each of the teams that have represented AFC Wandsworth. The object of the Club is to provide a safe environment in which to play Association football regardless of gender, race, religion or ability. The Club also aims to promote football and sport as a means of enhancing health education, learning opportunities and local community involvement, with young people acquiring sporting and personal skills from which they will derive life long benefits, self-respect, self-esteem, self-confidence, integrity and respect for others.
We are currently in the process of regrowing the club to its previous stature by creating teams from the youngest age-groups, and fostering development opportunities in our oldest age groups (including opportunities to coach and achieve Level 1) in order to recognise and nurture stability and loyalty to the club.
The AFC season runs from September through to the end of June.
